Meadow Pipits, I have photographed this family over the course of the
breeding season, and they're on their second brood now. They are feeding
the young about 20 times per hour now, returning with all manner of insects.
The parent birds are investing a lot of time and effort into the rearing
of these chicks and the wear and tear is starting to show. The first shot
was taken at the start of the breeding season and the pipit is in excellent
condition, but as you can see from the other shots they're looking a little
tired now.
