Barn Owls

Barn Owls from a recent trip to the North Norfolk coast, photographed in the early morning light. It had been a long time since my last visit to this beautiful part of the UK and I know that in a recent post I said I was going to stick to my local patch, but the pull of this place is something I just can't resist. Anyway, I hope you like the shots and thanks for dropping by.

Until next time

  1. Hi Andy

They look absolutely awesome enlarged on my screen. Super-sharp facial clarity and the light is incredible. Do you mind my asking what settings you were using to take such excellent shots in this type of light?

  2. Hi Christian,

Most of the time the aperture was set between f5.6 and f7.1 and the iso range between iso800 and iso1250. In hindsight I should have dropped the iso and stopped down to f8 because the shutter speeds I was achieving were anywhere between 1/2500th and 1/6400th.

Hope this helps matey and thanks for the comment
