Snow Buntings

After the Barn Owl, this was the other species I was after on my recent trip to the North Norfolk coast. Snow Buntings are very smart little birds and this particular flock are very approachable and can be very confiding at times. The only downside is that these birds like to congregate in a very busy car park, which can make photographing them quite a frustrating experience, just as you're about to press the shutter along comes a car and scares them off, which happened all too often. If I'm honest I didn't get the shots I was after, but at least this gives me another excuse
to pay them another visit.

Until next time, thanks for dropping by.

Barn Owls

Barn Owls from a recent trip to the North Norfolk coast, photographed in the early morning light. It had been a long time since my last visit to this beautiful part of the UK and I know that in a recent post I said I was going to stick to my local patch, but the pull of this place is something I just can't resist. Anyway, I hope you like the shots and thanks for dropping by.

Until next time

Tree Spugs

Managed to get out for an hour this morning, so I made the trip to the local NR and had a crack at the Tree Sparrows. These charming little birds are full of character and always raise a smile.

Until next time, thanks for dropping by.

Black-headed Gulls

Here are some BhG shots from earlier in the week, this very common bird is very underrated and very under photographed IMO, whilst I was photographing these birds, one fellow photographer came up to me and in a round about way asked why I was wasting my time photographing BhG's, some people are so short sighted!!

Until next time, thanks for dropping by.

Coot

Yesterday I made the decision to spend more time at my local Nature Reserve, now this is a place I would normally avoid like the plague due to the high volume of people, screaming kids and dog walkers that frequent such places. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that mid week my local reserve is pretty quiet, so rather than spend £50 on petrol travelling all over the country looking for creatures to photograph this is going to be my only port of call for the next few months, or at least until the school holidays start!

So to start, here are some Coot shots from yesterday afternoon.

Until next time, thanks for dropping by.
